Many of our publications have been adapted for the screen – both for major theatrical releases and the leading streaming platforms. Some of the most notable include Call Me by Your Name and Bones and All directed by Luca Guadagnino, Little Women by Greta Gerwig, Poor Things by Yorgos Lanthimos, Station Eleven, Unorthodox, and the popular film series about the adventures of Enola Holmes starring Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. We have also collaborated with Netflix to publish three official books set in the Stranger Things universe created by the Duffer Brothers. This June, the series We Were Liars, based on our bestselling novel by Emily Lockhart, premiered on Amazon Prime.

Joanna Bażyńska – co-founder and CEO of Poradnia K – is the driving force behind the publishing house’s standout success. With over 30 years of leadership across publishing and media, she’s built bestselling brands, shaped bold growth strategies, and launched game-changing ventures – from turning Metro into Poland’s #1 free daily to co-creating Metromsn.pl with Microsoft, which skyrocketed to 90M+ views in its first year.
In 2024, she founded Page to Pictures, a production house dedicated to bringing literature to the big screen. The company’s debut project – a feature-length animated film based on the beloved children’s book Banda Czarnej Frote (The Black Terry Band) – has received support and funding from the Polish Film Institute (PISF). The premiere is slated for 2027/28.
Before launching Poradnia K, Joanna made waves as Investor Relations Director at Agora – Poland’s leading media group. She led the company’s landmark dual IPO on the Warsaw and London Stock Exchanges, setting new benchmarks in corporate governance and investor communications – achievements recognized with numerous industry awards.
